Back from Moscow Trip [5DII imgs]
Apr 20, 2009

Thanks to all of you who gave me advice prior to my trip to Russia. I just returned from a week in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. The weather was (I'm told) great for this time of year--sunny and in the 50s and 60s in Moscow, colder and wetter in Saint Petersburg.

I must admit that I was kind of nervous before I left. I'd heard lots of stories about how dangerous Moscow is, and how the police will stop you and harrass you all the time (looking for bribes). I didn't encounter ANY of that. I felt perfectly safe walking around the city, and no one ever stopped me with my camera (5DII), even when I had my 100-400mm lens on walking around Red Square. The people were very nice, and I had a great experience.

Now for some of the photos! All with 5D Mark II, mostly 100-400mm, 17-40mm, 50mm 1.8, and 24-70mm. I used a tripod extensively (also with no problems).
