Thanks to dpreview for such a terrific article! It really made me understand why every time when I used tone curves to improve the look of an image, I got flat results. Indeed, now it's obvious and logical that different sections of image require their own adjustment curves.

Now I wonder, is their product available only for cameras or is there a corresponding Photoshop plugin that does the same?

I think that a plugin would be very cool, I'm not keen on shooting jpegs from camera, so if you combine raw shooting with postprocessing using such enhancement plugin, it would be great.

Does anyone know are there existing Photoshop plugins to do that? I understand that you can create that sections manually as layers and apply different curves to each of them, but plugin could automate that.
