Demb Flip-it Construction Question

I just purchased the demb flip-it, and it just arrived. I'm a little curious as to other's thoughts on the maximum angle on theirs. The one I received seems to only go to about 30-40 instead of the advertised 45 degrees. I've attached a photo of its max angle here:

Now, a closeup reveals that perhaps the bounce itself was mounted a bit too low, preventing the angle bracket from reaching its full potential angle. Here is the closeup:

Couple of questions:
-For those with the bracket, is that normal?
-Even if it is not, is the 5-10 degrees going to make a difference?
