Lighting a large group

I'm shooting a group of 10 executives today. I'm debating on two different lighting scenerios. I usually shoot large groups with just flat light. I use two umbellas on either side of my camera and set them for f 11. Now I'm considering using two kicker softboxes on the side and behind the group. What do you think?
