Canon 100 f/2 or 85 f/1.8 for portrait?

Hi,

I'm considering buying a prime lens for portait photography.

I have a 400D (XTi) body and also a Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens. I like this lens for its sharp pictures and shallow depth of field and I would like to complement this one with a longer one. But I do not know which one would be better. Some also suggested to buy the Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro, but I'm not really interested in macro photography. But I cannot decide between the other 2. Which one do you think would be better for general portrait photography? (I would use it for family and friends portraits).
