Epson 1900, 2880 (and 4880) clogging???
Feb 23, 2009

Sorry to bring this up again, BUT...

Attracted by positive reviews and rebate discounts and very competitive pricing, I discussed these printers and the 3800 with a manager at The Calgary's Camera Store, who seemed to be a very experienced printer. He warned me that, if used irregularly, all but the 3800 (because of its different nozzle-parking method) are still somewhat subject to clogging. For occasional use, he suggested that the HP 9180 (which also boasts an ethernet connection and a better looking software interface) as the best 13 inch choice, and the 3800, which he speculates will finally be replaced/upgraded in the next six to nine months as the best 17" choice.

Trying to research this further here, I found little mention of clogging on the three printers heading this post. But then they are fairly new, and other users may not be in the same situation of not using them for four and even six weeks occasionally that I am.

Any comments?
