Good point, the mirror trick could be used for alignment, and then the hole covered.

I wanted to try the FM trick, but too cold to even think of going to my garage and trying to build it. Not sure I could get it square anyway.

The comment about being similar to the FM method was with respect to
the basic idea of using JPEG file size and a proper target to make MF
adjustment rather than the use of a mirror for alignment.

I have been checking my file sizes and get a pretty good correlation, but I don't have the correct control of content to rely on it. It is sort of a tie breaker.
