I could have had a V8 (24-105)

I thought the 28-135 I had was going to be good enough to use with my 5D2. This is just a personal decision, but I'm disappointed and I now have a buyer for my 28-135. I want the 24-105.

In hindsight I was an idiot for not getting the kit. Do you think enough buyers got the kit to dump the lens, that the used lenses have come down in price? Can someone suggest where I should look for one?

Could I come out ahead selling my body (perfect condition) and buying a kit?
