Yes... at least for RAW. Manufacturers can store a lot more info in RAW than they do in EXIF and they do... (e.g. the DNG "advantage" argument).

Heard that correction software like DxO had problems and googled up
this aswell:

Maybe the older models didn't do it, but the newer ones certainly do.
