WARNING: G1 Blinking Highlight Warning doesn't work in IA mode

Just a word of warnig - we all know that digital cameras tend to clip highlights easily, especially cameras with a lot of megapixels on a small sensor. I really like the way the G1 can be set to flash clipped highlights at you when displaying the shot for a couple of seconds after it has been taken but I discovered to my cost today (taking pictures of snow in bright sunlight) that it doesn't do this in Intelligent Auto mode. I've really no idea why not - it seem to do it in ALL the other modes. I was disappointed to find when I got home that a number of shots I thought were fine weren't.
