Upcoming new D700 owner has a couple of questions.

Hello and thanks to all here that gave me some great information several weeks ago. I am currently selling my Olympus gear and will be purchasing a D700 body the end of the week, an 80-200mm f2.8 right after that, and the battery grip and SB-600 just after that. I had several of the super high grade OLY lenses, so I am use to having very good glass. I would like to add a VERY good wide angle after I get the basic setup, and wanted to check to find out what is the very sharpest offering by Nikon for the D700 in regards to landscape work?
