Yes thats what I was talking about doing. I wasn't sure if there was a benefit to the new receivers if I was not using the cybercommander.

But I did want to make sure that since they older receivers have a mini jack... that means they will be able to be a simple trigger for almost any studio strobe I choose in the future.

I agree with a previous poster who stated that as one improves the less adjusting at the strobe you will need to do. I do find myself coming pretty close when I initially set up lights so I might just save that money and spend it elsewhere
