Boot camp / Fusion advice
Jan 10, 2009

My imac is on the way, and I'm planning for the big switch from my pc. Is there anything wrong with this plan (Apple store said it wouldn't by ideal, but I"m not sure why):

Set up a small partition for bootcamp. The purpose of this will be to allow me to run one role-playing game (Wizardry 8). I don't think I will need to run anything else under bootcamp.

Then install VMFusion. I think I can use the same installation of Windows that I use for bootcamp, but since I haven't done it yet, I'm not exactly sure. Then I leave VMFusion running on a daily basis so that I can run a few Windows programs that aren't memory-intensive (like Wordperfect).

Is there any reason this plan won't work? Apple Store says it's best to choose EITHER bootcamp or Fusion, but not both -- but I'm not sure why they're saying that.

Any advice would be appreciated before I dive in. Thanks.
