"Manual Sensor Clean". Good Results?

I've got 2 dust specks on my sensor, each to the far edges of the sensor and they don't come into play very often. When they do it's easy enough to use the "healing" brush to make them disappear.
The auto cleaning feature (startup and shut down) doesn't seem to move them at all.
Have any of you had good luck doing the manual cleaning using a bulb blower?
I'm charging for a full battery now in order to try it (mirror lockup), but would hate to waste time/effort if it's merely going to blow it around to the center of the sensor.
Any thoughts?
