Just reading this series.

I noticed this on mine some time back. I had my 0.50x wide angle adaptor lens on it ...which is pretty heavy. At anything but widest setting it would fully extend the lens if the camera was pointed down, but at the 28mm setting, where the lens changes direction at that last adjustment, even the added weight of the wide angle will not dislodge it and cause it to drop down.

Nice feature. I have sometimes removed the camera with the wide angle attached from my camera bag and inadvertantly rotated the lens, though, and got a big surprise when the lens extended suddenly with a bit of a 'clunk' when it reached full extension. I'm careful to check that it is locked now, before holding the camera vertical with the wide angle attached.
