How much does the speed of a UDMA card matter?

We're shopping for a UDMA card for a photographer who uses a 23 megapixel DSLR (not sure exactly which make and model). We've found that the 133x ones, for example, are much cheaper than the 233x ones, but will the slower UDMA speed interfere with her continuous shooting? Or does it just affect the speed of transferring to a computer?
