Question for Jos. Wisniewski
Dec 12, 2008

Thank you for the expertise and help you so freely share on DPReview. Would you give me your opinion as to which capture method would be best for landscape photography, 'best' meaning as to detail and dynamic range in prints up to 40x60 inches:

1. A stitched photo of 'normal' proportions (1x1.5) made with a high mp digital camera, prime lens, mirror locked up.
2. A scan from medium format (645) Velvia.
3. A scan from the same equipment, but on Kodak Portra 160
4. A scan from 4x5 Velvia
5. A scan from 4x5 Portra

All scans would of course be high quality. Output would be on an Epson large format printer. The negative film is under consideration because of its great exposure latitude.

Thank you in advance for your help!
