As far as I'm concerned, both G10 and LX3 are underwhelming

It's all about picking the lesser of two evils:

LX3:

1. Blurry JPEG rendering at low ISO. Seems that no one but Canon can render a decent JPEG file to save their life.
2. Overexposure in the red channel turning bright red into purple sometimes
3. Really narrow zoom range
4. There's no Sunpak RD2000 for it

G10:

1. Desaturates the shadows heavily starting right at ISO100 - this is a deal breaker for me. Also, desaturates everything starting at ISO400

2. Worse high ISO performance and slower lens (though better image stabilization).

I'm receiving my G10 on Monday, but after looking at dozens and dozens of samples, I think I'll probably send it back and stick to my Nikon D200 and Fuji F11 until Canon, Panny or Fuji release a worthy upgrade.
