Is DPreview Blind (ISO 400 comparison comment)
Nov 25, 2008

I'm sorry, but someone didn't put their glasses on when the viewed these ISO 400 comparison shots between the G10, Nikon P6000, and the LX3.

For Dpreview to make such a statement as this:

"Even at this low-ish sensitivity setting the Canon and Nikon have surrendered most, if not all, their resolution advantage. The LX3's output still closely resembles its base ISO quality..."

Followed by this set of comparison shots at ISO 400 (see link): http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canong10/page18.asp

Where are they getting the idea that in these shots the G10's resolution is being lost due to the higher ISO setting and that the LX3 still looks pretty as a picture basically retaining its base ISO appearance?!?! What bologna! Clearly from the shots in this comparison, the G10 WAY outresolves both the Nikon AND the LX3.

Sorry, but another review bites the dust in my opinion.

More coffee now.
