Any 35-100mm users have UV filters on your glass?

Well, i finally was able to get the coveted 35-100mm for my headshot work, as its 99% of what I do. So far, in my opinion, it has been a VERY worthwhile investment. I was using the 50mm f2, and loved it... however, the images from the 35-100mm are even better, and I am able to really blur out that background with the added reach and the f2. I will post some new samples soon, hopefully.
That said, I just purchased a Hoya 77mm DMC PRO1 UV filter to protect it. I know, I know... about half of you do not like filters, and I understand the reasons why. I just know it took me years to get this glass, and I can't afford for anything to happen to it. So far, I haven't noticed any effect on the images, but I have only had the glass for 2 weeks. Any of you 35-100mm users, have a UV filter on your lens? If so, anything you've noticed regarding it's effect, or lack of effect, on this particular lens?
Thanks again,
Billy
