I was told by a Canon rep 2MO before the 50D came out that you will
need to run the high ISO stuff in DPP to get the 1 to 1.5 stops of
less noise, I didn't know at the time he was talking about the 50D
but now makes sense. I ran some low light shots that would not make
the grade and now there wonderful more or less. DPP your low light
shots!!! and much cheeper then buying Nikon's cameras and DPP comes
FREE Nikons isn't.

The new DPP isn't that bad and i dislike new ones ( Programs ) Richard

on the plus side there is a DVD that comes with it to show you all the tricks of DPP .
