What would you be willing to pay for a used 28-70mm 2.8 lens

in mint condition?

I'm thinking about getting either a 28-70mm or perhaps even a 24-70mm if I can part with some $1600 for the 24-70. But I was just wondering what most folks would be willing to pay for a used 28-70mm.

I'm thinking about selling my 35-70mm, 50mm 1.4 (which I never use), and perhaps even my 18-200mm to offset the cost of either of these lenses and make it my primary lens.

Also, how do you feel the 28-70mm or 24-70mm would be as a travel lens if I also brought along my Signa 10-20mm for those wide shots? My wife and I are going on a 14 day cruise next summer and I really would like to have a nice sharp lens with me like the 24-70mm or 28-70mm.
