How did you first learn how to "pee pee"

How did you first learn how to post process?

I have ViewNX, CaptureNX2, and Photoshop Elements 6.

I've downloaded the manuals and am just reading them straight through.

Is there a better approach to learning how to PP and doing it with the software I have?
