No Mirror in a DSLR

Would a mirrorless Dslr be a good thing or a bad thing ?

Im new to DSLR, i've only had my 450D for a few weeks, although it took me no time at all to get back in to haddit of looking through the eye peice i still prefer to use live view but i what the IQ of the DSLR.

The new G1 looks very intresting but i still feel that a bigger sensor with on mirror would have big benifits, proper live view, no mirror shake and you can hold the camera in more directions for different shots, Like kids running around, birds flying past, getting the picture from behind the crowed to name just a few.

What do some of the more experience DSLR users think ? Would some of these be of use to you ? Or is using the mirror give better picture IQ ?

Would the 500D "if thats what canon name it" Sell just as much or more if it had no mirror and fuul working live view like a P&S ?
