Seems your French may be much better than my English!

No...not even close.

Your English is fine!

My French is borrowed from the internet....hehehe!

Which INTERNET translator? It seems quite good. Could help me
sometimes from French to English.

For the common phrases I just go here...

http://www.elite.net/~runner/jennifers/

and then for the word "cheers" I just go here...

http://home.worldonline.dk/mortenl/cheers.html

and then for the direct English to French and French to English translation I just google for a Frencvh English dictionary...

Bonne journée et plein de belles photos avec votre 50D puis le 5mk2...

Yes! On my good journey I will take more photos with my 50D...then
my 5D Mark II.
(I just guessed the translation. Did I do good enough?)

"bonne journée" means "have a nice day"

Oops! I made a mistake! I thought "bonne" means "good" and "journée" means "journey". Sorry!

Merci beaucoup!

PS The first words I learned in French in the Philippines was coup
d'etat.
As a kid I asked "What is that?" and the teacher explained and I
asked "But ma'm,
how come it's pronounced that way and it's spelled another way?" and
she said
"Danny...just accept it. It's French." so I just scratched my head.
In the
Philippines all words are pronounced the way they are spelled.

Same in Italian, a language I have learned a little. But very
different from English "Leicester" for example is just impossible for
us French.
Most of the French comes from Latin as you probably know. We have
kept some letters, nobody knows why nowadays...

I am clueless why.

When my brother and I went to Paris in 2004 (via Eurostar train from the Waterloo Station in London) we stopped by Gare du Nord train station. I played with my brother and tried to pronounce it the Pilipino way "GUH RE DO NORD!".

Then my brother Joe smiled at me "C'mon Danny! You know better than that! It's pronounced "GUH DO NO!" then a French lady passed by and said "LA GUH DO NO!". The Eiffel Tower is Tour d'Eiffel pronounced "TOO DEFELL".

I guess I am never going to get used to pronouncing French words.

It would be truly amazing to watch a spelling bee contest in France. In every word that they give I will be shocked at the proper spelling of the word....every word.

Then in high school one friend said "Danny we have a soiree. You
wanna come?"
I said "Soiree? What's a soiree?" He said "Danny, it's a party!" I
said "Okay I will come! But why didn't you just say party in the
first place?" Then he just shrugged "I dunno."

Unfortunately, French is also the snob's language!

C'mon...please don't say that!

We met a lot of nice French people in Paris. They weren't snobs...not at all!!!

I know you're just kidding!

First real world comparison I see.

Merci beaucoup! At first I failed now I tried to deliver....and I
guess I did it.

I have a 5D and was waiting to
see a convincing test before making my decision whether I'll buy a
50D or not.
I'll look in depth at your shots before deciding...

Okay!

Thanks a lot for
taking time and sharing.

You're welcome!
