Bad Epson Refurb? - a first

I have purchased at least 1/2 dozen refurbished Epson printers over the years and they've been flawless...until now.

I bought the Epson R280 refurb for $44.00 and went to installl it today.

Plugged it in and both the ink out and the paper feed lights are flashing. The head won't move. Did a little research but nothing about this problem except when waste pads are full.

I'm guessing I have a lemon? I've emailed Epson support - will probably have to exchange it.

I have an R2400 but wanted this one for glossy prints without having to change ink types in the R2400 (it has a CIS).
