3 volt CR2 battery - is this the same as the CR123a ?
Oct 15, 2008

Hello,

I have a question about batteries for old Canon or any brand film cameras.

I have a camera that takes a CR2 battery, but have tried to locate one using the "CR2" listing as it used to be in the Canon manual.

I am finding CR2 type batteries ( they are 3 volts ) very hard to find, but I am finding something by the number of "CR123A"

Does anyone know if these are the same batteries ?

The camera in quesiton is an old Canon Sure Shot 115 U , and it uses 1 CR2 battery ( 3 volt ) , the battery looks like an AA, but is shorter and much stubbier visually.

Thanks for any info !

Dave.
