SMALL External Flash for the LX3

My LX3 is scheduled for delivery tomorrow and I will be looking for a small external flash for the camera.

Years ago (w-a-a-a-y back in the olden 35mm days), I had a Rollei 35S compact camera and the companion flash Rollei made for it. The flash unit was very small, but relatively powerful.

I'm soliciting suggestions/recommendations for a similar unit to use with the LX3, since I really haven't kept up with current offerings in that market area. Does anyone make a SMALL flash unit that offers bounce capability and/or flash intensity compensation?

I know I can always go the slave flash route, but it would be nice to have a small, capable unit to have in the camera bag for those times when the on-board flash will just not do the job.
