A very proud moment
Sep 21, 2008

Yesterday the State of New Jersey sponsored a cultural fair in Trenton, the state capital. I went for the music, dance and food (more about dance later) but ran into this wonderful suprise, a Naturalization Ceremony. For those outside of the US, this is the swearing in and taking the Oath of Allegiance to the US and is the final step of a long, hard process of becoming a United States Citizen. I hope you will enjoy this with me.

Governor Jon Corzine of NJ welcoming the potential new citizens

US Representative Rush Holt of NJ was also there. He is my congressman and he really is a rocket scientist!

Taking the Oath of Allegiance

It is a solemn moment for all

Welcome, new citizens. We are all glad you are here.
