Sigma 10-20mm lens-Suggestions

Hi there:

I just purchased the Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens for my Nikon D40X. I have not used a wide angle lens before and though I did a search and did not find any specific information, I was wondering if the more experienced photographers have any suggestions for using a wide angle lens as I understand it is different due to perspective differences, etc.
