Best 4x6 printer??

I have a old Epson Picturemate that I am very unhappy and am considering changing.

I print a few 4x6 prints every few months. Every time I go print I need to re clean the clogged heads. This involves a lot of time - about 30- 40 minutes to clean it a few times and print all the test prints. This also goes through a heck of a lot of ink.

I do like the convenience of printing 4x6 prints for the family so I am thinking of getting a new 4x6 printer.

Should I buy the new Epson Picturemate Dash 260? Will I have the same head clogging problems? Should I leave the printer on all the time? Will that prevent the head clogging?

Should I look at another 4x6 printer like a Canon Selphy?
or
Should I just fork it all out and go for an Epson R1900? (or something else?)

(I use a Mac exclusively)
