Satisfied with D300 ?

Hi,

this forum sounds quite quiet, but the DBS discussions. No news, good news. I was wondering how satisfied people are with their D300.

Last year, I ordered a D3 and a D300. Due to delivery delay (first D3s started shipping in April over here), I changed my order to a second D300 and bought the 14-24/2.8 and 24-70/2.8. The idea was to keep one of the bodies only until beginning of winter season and switch to FF.

Until now, there has been no assignment I wasn't able to carry out with the D300s and am seriously reconsidering switching to D3 (or D700) in the short term.
I also use a Fuji S5 for challenging light situations and a Kodak FF for studio.

Proper settings, especially AF, were not that easy to reach and to master (well, at least for me) but once OK IQ and keepers' rate (I shoot a lot of sports) are amazing.

This "temporary" situation might remain for a longer time than initially expected...
