Portrait orientation in the digital age
Sep 1, 2008
|
By far, most of my pictures are viewed on some landscape-orientation HD device - be in a PC screen, HDTV, or projector. On these devices, a 3x2 portrait-oriented image looks small ( 1/3 of the screen) and relatively unimpressive. I have come to the point that I am very hesitant to shoot in portrait orientation, even though when looking through the viewfinder it is obviously the correct composition.
What is your take on portrait orientation these days?
