5D another 6 months away.

50D are not suppose to be release by another 6 months (base on Canon’s 1-1/2 life cycle), but due to poor sales of 40D they hastily replace it which is a bad decision as this will affect resale value. Another reason is to mask out the delay of 5D replacement as Nikon long term marketing vision like the all new 700D was too much for Canon to compete with. So we are in for another 6 months wait or longer for a 5D replacement.
