The Sunday BIRD, Volume 4 Issue 16, August 17, 2008

Good Morning All,
It has been a fruitful week, hope it has been the same for you.

The adult male White-tailed Kite has returned. Sort of. He is in and out and it is hard for me to figure where he will be on any given day. I did get one good shot and it is in my first batch today.

Thursday I had a surprise visitor, a Black-crowned Night Heron flew in and perched on the Bottle-brush Tree on the dock just by my floating home. After a bit he flew up to my balcony and later back to the tree. Stayed about two hours and didn't seem too bothered by numerous passers-by. I have lived here for just over thirty years and no one has ever seen a large bird land in any of the small trees around the harbor.
I was hoping he/she would take up residence but it didn't return.
