I've realized I hate product brands...

...and the endless, competitive bickering that exists because of them.

So I've taken to removing or concealing the logos on every piece of camera equipment I own. - electrical tape blends in surprisingly well with black plastic. Obviously, those familiar with cameras will still be able to identify my stuff, but it's the principle of the thing.

I didn't buy a brand - I bought a camera. I don't act like a cheerleader for a particular company - I take pictures. My photography is not aided by having a certain logo emblazoned across my equipment, and it will not be hindered by its absence.

From now on, my SLR is an SLR. It isn't a specific brand or model number. I didn't buy it to impress anyone, I bought it to make me happy. It's just hard to accomplish that when every yahoo within shouting distance wants to tell me that I "bought the wrong camera", for no other reason than because -he- didn't buy it.
