135mm f2 DC front focus on D700/D300
Aug 13, 2008

A few days I discovered that my Nikon 135 f2 DC (non-D version) consistently front-focused on both my D300 and D700. After posting here on the lens forum but received no real answer I called the Nikon repair shop and spoke to a technician, who "thought" it could not be corrected, but encouraged me to bring the lens in, so he could confirm this suspicion. For this "service" I would be charged around $120. Yak, no thanks.

So further testing revealed the front focus did actually normalize with increased subject distance and then I found this post:

This is exactly what I am experiencing. So what are my options now... does anyone know if this can be corrected ? Or do I essentially have to accept that this lens is now officially a MF lens , when mounted on this $3000 AF pinnacle of mine ?!
