4X6 is common, but no 6X9, 8X12, etc frames

I don't understand. Maybe somebody can point out reasons for this:

4X6 prints are the most common photo size. Most DSLR's are 6X4 format. P&S tend to be a bit more square, but basic prints are still 4X6. So, why then are there absolutely no mats or frames for the larger 4X6 scales?!! Everything is "...for 5X7" or "...for 8X10" etc. That means cropping and sometimes losing vital parts of the image. For 4X6's, sure you can find some mats for that size. But I got a couple large prints done at 8X12 and all I can find are 8X10, 11X14, sometimes 9X12, and so on. But absolutely nothing 4X6 scale. So I have to go the custom made route.

If most prints are 4X6, it seems obvious to me that pre-made mats/frames for uncropped enlargements would be the way to go. Is this finally my million-dollar idea?
