SP570UZ: Profiles for Noise Ninja
Aug 6, 2008
|
I have heard from Picturecode (the makers of Noise Ninja) that they will be uploading to their site profiles for the Olympus SP570UZ when they next do a batch of profile uploads to their site.
I took the calibration photos on which the new profiles are based. I found that Noise Ninja did a good job on RAW shots converted with a couple of converters up to ISO 400, but that it couldn't cope with the chroma noise at ISO 800 and particularly ISO 1600. For those I got better RAW conversions with dcraw than with Silkypix or Olympus Master 2. I used Silkypix for the RAW conversions I sent to Picturecode.
Noise Ninja worked fine on the JPEGs (10MP, Fine).
