Question to Canon G9 owners

I read in this forum and in many others complaints by G9 owners of dirt getting inside the lens and sensor, hence corrupting the image taken and rendering the camera useless. I read this is happenning even when storing the cam in a lint free pouch.My question is: is this an unavoidable outcome for all G9 owners? Are there any 6 month+ G9 owners that still have their cameras doing well, free from this issue? Thanks for your feedback
P.S.: I own a G9 for 2 months already, low usage, and so far no issues.
