Is this good enough for you???

I just purchased (well it was back in April), my first Pentax (it's a K10D), after the 1978 MX of my older brother I used when I was a kid.

This August vacations will be in Cuba, so I'd like to be prepared and I don't know if the 18-55 (version I) kit lens I have is good enough.

Today I took the following shot of the front side of the Duomo di Milano (instead of the usual boring brick walls) and these are 100% center crops of JPEGs straight out of the camera on "bright" mode with everything to +0.

It seems, like it's obvious, that full aperture has to be avoided, but at F8 or F11 is not bad, but... is it good enough for you???

Would you bring it with you in a "serious" vacation or would you run to buy something better in that range (or maybe wider)???
