Bag full of gear or one lens when going snapping?
Jul 24, 2008

I'm just wondering about what people carry in photographic gear when going out on a snapping mission, I just about always only go out with one lens, I very rarely take my gadget bag full of stuff or my tripood, I like to travel lightweight, this includes just the E-520 and the 70-300, very light for a long reaching lens, I will say to myself, right I know where I am going I will take the 40-150 or whatever today, I do have an old small bag for carrying single items, if I am just going into town or anywhere without a photographic aim I am always lightweight, the E-520 and the 25mm pancake(great combo) or my Ricoh GRD.

I know professionals will stick a full gamut of stuff in the boot(trunk)they have to be ready for any sort of a situation, but some of us who are snapping for fun and pleasure don't need to, although we have to admit that hundreds of working journalists years ago did amazing work with just a Leica and a 35mm or a 50mm lens(HCB).
