Epson 2400 printer

I have an Epson 2400 printer and and the Red paper light flashes and the Red ink light flashes. The book is saying that there is a paper jam or a foregin object is preventing the print head from returning to the home position. Is there a way that I can release the carts and move them to the left to see if there is something jaming the carts.
