Problem with AF point

Roughly one year ago bottom right diagonal AF point on my EOS 20D started to behave weirdly. It can focus sometimes, bust mostly it can't focus at all.
Anyway, I could have lived with that (I did not used to select this AF point very often), but this week the centre bottom AF point started to behave like its neighbour and now it drives me crazy. I wonder if someone had the similar problem. Can't be there a speck blocking the AF point and causing the problem? If so, can I clean it myself, or service help is necessary?
