Canon iP4500 or Epson R280 - which one?

I am considering getting a new printer, either the Canon iP4500 or Epson R280.

Is the iP4500 boot up or turn on cycle fairly quick? I currently have a iP3000 and it goes thru all sorts of gyrations before it is ready to use. Before that I had a i850 which I thought took annoying long to get ready to print, but the iP3000 takes an even longer time. I was wondering if Canon has improved in this respect.

I see a lot of positive comments about the iP4500, but also some negatives about people getting a red hue. I’m not sure if this is only affecting some machines, but it‘s making me look at the Epson.

I have searched the postings, but am looking for more up to date comments on either printer.
