Rangefinder Questions

Would someone direct me to web resources that can best describe the advantages and shortcomings of using a rangefinder camera? I'm thinking of switching from my Canon 5D setup (see profile) to an M8 with one or possibly two lenses. I am curious what the fundamental differences are--not only in terms of image quality, but also technique and approach. I'd appreciate any input. Thanks.
