I think I left a line or two off my original post. I had wanted to mention that in horizontal orientation, the shadow of the subject from a bounce card fell mostly behind the subject and was pretty much invisible, while the shadow cast by a bounce card off to the side in a vertical shot would fall to the side of the subject, mush more noticeable.
