The blue sky background is better for me. More natural and takes away the extreme harshness of the white background. Note that this is especially true of viewing on a monitor. On a print it would not be quite so bad.

Look at the real sky, the sky blue intensity varies from horizon to over head, it is not perfectly uniform. When adding a blue sky try using the PS gradient tool and making the top slightly darker than the bottom. Then using the burn tool at about 8% and softest edge burn in all around the border/edge of the photo.

However, with this photo a blue sky does not really look very natural. If the sky were blue then the sun was shining. The birdie does not look like it was in the sun.
