Dead D2x

Last weekend I was shooting a car show with my D3 (14-24) and D2x (Fisheye DX) and near the end of the shoot the shutter failed on the D2x. I had kept the D2x as a back-up body and to also use my considerable investment in DX lenses. Now I am not sure what to do: repair the D2x or buy a D300 body for back-up. I would appreciate some input as I am having some difficulty deciding what to do.
