DVD Authoring
Jun 7, 2002

I've been trying to author some DVD's and VCD's of late. I have tried quite a few different software packages and none of them can do everything I want.

I have a D60, and I want to use the still images it creates for "videos". I tried Ulead Pictureshow which is very good, generates very high quality pictures on the DVD/VCD but does not allow for any transitions or effects on the images. I also tried their DVD Workshop program which is the same, but also allows for video.

I have also tried Adobe Premiere, which works great for the effects, but even in the DV format (720x480) the images don't look very sharp once burned onto a DVD/VCD.

I don't know what format Ulead pictureshow uses, but if I can get that kind of quality and transitions, i will be a happy camper. Once the images are converted to any video format, they just don't look very good anymore, especially on a bigscreen TV.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks,
Andre.
